We have 4 new opportunities available to ESV candidates.
Coppice Community Centre are looking for someone to provide ideas and suggestions to improve their website.
They are looking for suggestions on how to make the website more eye-catching and attractive whilst maintaining a professional feel. They also want to look at how they can make the website accessible to members of the community and how they can develop their online presence further through other social networks.
The volunteer will need online marketing experience, preferably web design however this is not essential. They will also need a good eye and be able to provide suggestions to improve the website. This is an opportunity to develop your mentoring skills and an opportunity to gain an insight into how a community centre runs.
Funky Fitness and Fun are an organisation that runs a variety of sessions for adults with learning disabilities. As with the above Coppice opportunity they are looking for someone to provide ideas and suggestions to improve Funky Fitness and Fun website. The volunteer would be able to split their time between both of these organisations.
Funky Fitness and Fun are also looking for an Activity Volunteer. Someone who can run a session and share a personal hobby such as sewing or playing the guitar with adults with learning disabilities. They are looking for new activities, so any hobby that you can share to a group of people is more than welcome.
Potential volunteers will need to have a particular hobby (it can be anything) that you can share
with adults with learning disabilities for example flower arranging, card making, bird box making, sewing, yoga, playing the guitar. Unfortunately there are no facilities for cookery or baking sessions. This is an opportunity for you to develop your facilitation skills and get an insight into the lives of adults living with learning disabilities in Oldham.
You will need to run 2 / 4 sessions on either a Tuesday or Friday 10am - 2pm.
Keyring provide supported accomodation to residents in Oldham. They are holding an information session for their tenants on Thursday 1st November and they are looking for a volunteer to come a run a 15 minute session on 'A day in the life of a council employee...'
The aim of the opportunity is to promote the world of work by talking about what skills are needed for your role, how you found paid employment, your future aspirations and the benefits of working besides being paid.
The potential volunteer will need to be able to deliver a presentation to a group of Keyring tenants. This is an opportunity to develop or refresh your presentation and workshop facilitation skills. This is also an opportunity to think about the value of your own job and identify the skills you possess for this role. You will also increase your understanding of Keyring tenants and the worklessness agenda in Oldham.
