3 new exciting opportunities for Oldham Council Employees

Do you have a personal interest, hobby or hidden talent that you would like to share as an Employee Supported Volunteer?

Oldham Carers Centre are look for somebody who can either knit or embroider and share their talents with a group of Oldham Carers. So far during this project 3 council employees have spent their time at the Carers centre sharing their personal hobbies from baking to cake decoration. The carers have enjoyed these sessions so much and one carer in particular said it has given her a 'new lease of life'.

Higginshaw rugby club are looking for an enthusiastic and competent handyman who could help to complete their half finished kitchen. Over the past 12 months the club has undergone a series of different refurbishments and they have one last task to complete. If you have excellent joinery skills and would be able to fit work tops on to base units (already fitted), attach skirting boards and fit a sink please get in touch. This is a great opportunity to get away from your day job whilst using a personal interest to support a well deserved cause.

Perhaps you want to support organisation with a professional skill that you use on a day to day basis within work? Oldham Society for Blind and Partially are looking for some to help develop a marketing strategy and raise the profile of the organisation in the Failsworth area of Oldham. Could you support them to develop creative and effective ways to promote the new service and consult members of the public?
